Underground Construction SupervisorSukari is located approximately 750km from Cairo and 25km from Marsa Alam on the Red Sea. First gold was poured in June 2009 and commercial production began in April 2010, making Sukari the first modern gold mine in Egypt, a country which in ancient times was a prolific producer of the precious metal. Sukari conducts both open-pit and underground mining operations, each employing specialized mining methods tailored to the orebody characteristics and operational requirements. The Role We are looking for a high-performing Underground Construction Supervisor to successfully lead our field construction crew. In this role, you will drive a culture of safety excellence while coordinating the resources, equipment, and labour required to meet critical underground production and construction targets.Location: On-site in Marsa AlamContract Type: Permanent, full-timeSchedule: 6 Weeks/3 Weeks working rosterCompensation: Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package The Key ResponsibilitiesEnforce operational and risk prevention standards defined for the area. Ensure crew compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), conduct daily inspections, manage hazard reporting, and proactively maintain a zero-harm environment (KPIs: Days without LTI, Days Injury-Free). Execute weekly and monthly paste pipe installation plans. Oversee paste wall and barricade construction to exact standards, manage material consumption, perform daily reticulation system inspections, and lead emergency response procedures for pipe blockages or cleanouts. Supervise and coordinate the installation of critical mine infrastructure according to structural designs, including ventilation walls, airlocks, DBRs, concrete slabs, and general repair works. Provide tactical, day-to-day leadership for the construction crew. Maintain close communication with Underground Shift Bosses, UG Maintenance, and Paste Plant Operators to optimize reticulation system conditions. Complete accurate daily reports on crew activities, material consumption, and project progress, ensuring all works strictly align with engineering designs.The Requirements 8–10 years of relevant work experience in hydraulic or paste backfill operations, specifically within an underground mining environment. Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity. Relevant educational qualification supporting the role. Proven experience operating underground equipment, specifically Integrated Toolcarriers (IT) and Scissor Lifts. Thorough, hands-on knowledge in the operation of air leg (jackleg, stopper) drills. Extensive experience installing mine infrastructure, underground service crew work, and managing concrete construction projects. Demonstrated ability to accurately read and interpret complex engineering/construction designs and plans.
