We are growing our Egypt-based development team and looking for a seasoned Principal Frontend Engineer The RoleAs Principal Frontend Engineer, you will be the technical authority for all frontend work within the Trading Platform Development team. This is a leadership role with hands-on delivery expectations: you will set the architectural direction for our Angular applications, define frontend standards and best practices, mentor junior and mid-level engineers, and drive the quality and performance of the user interfaces that traders and analysts rely on every day.What You’ll Do• Establish and own the frontend architecture for our Angular-based trading platform applications with the Team .• Define and enforce frontend coding standards, design patterns, and best practices across the team.• Lead the design and development of complex, high-performance Angular components and modules.• Drive performance optimisation across the frontend: bundle sizes, rendering, data handling, and responsiveness.• Mentor and provide technical guidance to frontend and full-stack developers on the team.• Conduct and champion thorough code reviews, raising the overall quality bar.• Partner with UX, backend engineers, and business analysts to deliver cohesive, user-centred features.• Evaluate and introduce frontend tooling, libraries, and architectural improvements where appropriate.• Contribute to platform-wide technical decisions beyond the frontend layer.• Lead and participate in design reviews, sprint planning, and user acceptance testing (UAT).Essential RequirementsThese are non-negotiable. You must be able to demonstrate deep, proven experience in the following:• Angular — expert-level proficiency; you are the person others come to with hard Angular problems.• TypeScript — strong typing, generics, decorators, and advanced patterns.• Component architecture — scalable module design, lazy loading, state management (NgRx or equivalent).• RxJS — reactive programming patterns, observable composition, and async data flows.• HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design — semantic markup, accessibility (WCAG), and cross-browser compatibility.• Frontend performance — profiling, optimisation techniques, and the ability to diagnose and resolve bottlenecks.• RESTful API integration and working with backend teams on API contracts.• Source control with Git, including branching strategy and code review culture.• 8+ years of frontend development experience, with at least 2 years in a principal, lead, or architect-level role.• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related field.Desirable ExperienceThe following reflect our current stack and domain.
