United ITS is expanding its aviation software engineering and simulation teams. We build high-reliability software systems supporting aviation operations, airspace control, and advanced training environments. We are seeking a highly technical Senior 3D Designer & Developer to bridge the gap between artistic asset creation and technical implementation, developing high-fidelity, interactive 3D environments for mission-critical training and scientific simulations.Key ResponsibilitiesAsset Creation & Optimization: Model, texture, and optimize high-quality 3D assets (hard-surface, environments, and characters) specifically tailored for real-time simulation performance.Engine Integration: Implement and configure 3D assets within game engines (Unity or Unreal Engine), ensuring proper lighting, physics, and material properties.Simulation Logic Development: Develop interactive elements, procedural scenarios, and simulation-specific behaviors using C# (Unity) or C++/Blueprints (Unreal Engine).Performance & Optimization: Perform technical art audits, managing draw calls, polygon budgets, LODs, and shader optimization to ensure stable frame rates on target hardware and VR/AR setups.Rigging & Technical Animation: Create functional rigs and precise animations for complex mechanical parts or humanoids to accurately reflect realistic movements.Technical Collaboration: Work closely with software engineers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to translate real-world aviation and tactical procedures into accurate virtual experiences.Required Qualifications3+ years of professional experience in 3D development, specifically within simulation, serious games, or industrial digital twins.Expert Software Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of 3D modeling tools (Blender, 3ds Max, or Maya) and texturing suites (Substance Painter/Designer).Advanced Engine Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with Unity or Unreal Engine, focusing on real-time rendering, physics, and UI/UX integration.Solid Programming Skills: Proficient scripting capabilities in C#, C++, or Python to engineer core simulation logic and automate pipeline workflows.Math & Physics Foundations: Strong grasp of linear algebra, vector math, and real-time physics engines to ensure high fidelity and simulation accuracy.Portfolio Requirement: A proven portfolio demonstrating realistic 3D environments, functional interactive systems, and optimized assets.Preferred ExtrasExperience with VR/AR/MR (XR) development and deployment for training environments.Knowledge of CAD data conversion and pipeline optimization using tools like Pixyz.Experience handling GIS data or large-scale terrain generation for geospatial simulation accuracy.Familiarity with enterprise version control systems (Git, Perforce, or SVN).
