Senior Contract Engineer

The general purpose of the job:To manage and administer contracts related to TMG projects, ensuring contractual compliance, risk mitigation, cost protection, and alignment with company policies and project objectives.Responsibilities and Duties:Prepare, review, and administer construction and consultancy contracts including Construction contracts, Consultant agreements, Service contracts, variation orders and amendments.Ensure contract terms align with project scope, budget, and company standards & maintain proper contract documentation and records.Support pre-contract activities including tender documentation review and participate in bid evaluation and technical/commercial assessments.Manage the full contract life cycle and monitor contractor performance against contractual obligations, KPIs, and deliverables.Evaluate contractor claims, variation orders, and extension of time requests.Analyze contractual entitlement and financial impact and prepare recommendations for approval by Contracts Manager.Identify contractual risks and propose mitigation strategies.Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and regulatory requirements.Prepare periodic contractual status reports and escalate critical contractual issues to Contracts Manager.Work closely with Engineering, Cost Control, Project Management, and Planning teams to ensure contract terms align with technical specifications and project timelines.Review technical documentation such as drawings, BOQs, and specifications to validate contract scope and pricing structures.Provide contract-related support during project execution, site meetings, and technical coordination.Assist the Contracts Manager in preparing dashboards and performance summaries for senior leadership.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management.5-7 years of experience in contracts administration within real estate development or contracting companiesStrong knowledge of construction contracts (FIDIC, PMP, CCP) is an advantage.Strong understanding in contract drafting, tendering, claims management and dispute resolution.Experience with tendering procedures and procurement workflows.Strong analytical and negotiation skills.Excellent communication and report-writing abilities.High attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to coordinate across multiple departments and manage deadlines.
