Job SummaryThe Senior Mechanical Maintenance Engineer is responsible for leading and supervising mechanical maintenance activities to ensure the reliability, efficiency, and availability of production equipment and facility assets. The role focuses on reducing downtime, improving equipment performance, implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance OperationsSupervise daily mechanical maintenance activities and provide technical support to maintenance technicians and supervisors. Ensure timely troubleshooting and repair of mechanical breakdowns to minimize production interruptions. Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability and operational efficiency. Coordinate maintenance activities with Production and other departments to ensure smooth operations. Preventive & Predictive MaintenanceDevelop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all mechanical equipment. Plan and schedule maintenance work to optimize equipment availability and maintenance resources. Analyze equipment failures and recurring issues to identify root causes and implement corrective actions. Ensure proper documentation of maintenance activities, equipment history, and performance records. Equipment Reliability & Asset ManagementMaintain and improve the performance of pumps, compressors, gearboxes, conveyors, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, mixers, tanks, and other production equipment. Lead reliability improvement initiatives and equipment modification projects. Monitor equipment condition and recommend replacement or refurbishment plans when necessary. Support spare parts planning and inventory optimization activities. Projects & Continuous ImprovementParticipate in new equipment installations, commissioning, and plant expansion projects. Lead mechanical improvement projects aimed at increasing productivity, reducing maintenance costs, and enhancing equipment reliability. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for major failures and implement preventive solutions. Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives. Team LeadershipSupervise and develop maintenance technicians and contractors. Conduct technical training and knowledge-sharing sessions. Evaluate team performance and ensure adherence to maintenance standards and procedures. Health, Safety & ComplianceEnsure all maintenance activities comply with HSE policies and safety regulations. Enforce safe work practices, permit-to-work systems, and lockout/tagout procedures. Participate in risk assessments and safety audits. Ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. 1–3 years of experience in mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment. Previous experience in supervising maintenance teams is preferred. Technical SkillsStrong knowledge of mechanical maintenance principles and industrial equipment. Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, rotating, and static equipment maintenance. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical manuals. Knowledge of preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance practices. Familiarity with condition monitoring techniques and root cause analysis methodologies. Experience with CMMS/ERP maintenance systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
