Job PurposeThe Indirect Material Senior Procurement Engineer is responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement lifecycle for indirect materials, services, and capital expenditure requirements. The role ensures timely sourcing, supplier optimization, cost efficiency, and compliance with procurement policies while supporting operational continuity and business objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Sourcing & ProcurementManage the complete procurement cycle for indirect materials, services, and CAPEX requirements.Develop and implement sourcing strategies for assigned procurement categories.Conduct market analysis and supplier benchmarking to identify competitive sourcing opportunities.Lead RFQs, RFPs, tenders, and supplier evaluation processes.Identify and implement cost reduction and value engineering initiatives.Ensure procurement activities align with business objectives and operational requirements.Support annual procurement planning and category management activities.Indirect Materials & Services ProcurementManage procurement activities related to:MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) materials.Industrial consumables.Safety and PPE requirements.Facility management services.Transportation and logistics services.Utilities and operational services.IT equipment and software procurement.Office supplies and administrative purchases.Professional and consultancy services.Capital expenditure projects (CAPEX).Machinery spare parts and maintenance contracts.Supplier ManagementDevelop and maintain strong relationships with approved suppliers.Conduct supplier qualification, evaluation, and performance assessments.Monitor supplier KPIs including quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost competitiveness.Lead supplier development initiatives and continuous improvement programs.Identify alternative suppliers to mitigate procurement risks.Manage supplier disputes and performance issues.Commercial Negotiation & Contract ManagementLead commercial negotiations to secure optimal pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and service levels.Draft, review, and manage procurement contracts and service agreements.Ensure contractual compliance and risk mitigation.Support legal and finance teams during contract reviews and approvals.Monitor contract utilization and renewal requirements.Cost Control & Savings InitiativesIdentify and execute cost-saving projects across indirect spend categories.Conduct Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis.Analyze spending patterns and procurement trends.Develop procurement reports highlighting savings achievements and procurement performance.Drive procurement efficiency and spend optimization initiatives.ERP & Procurement SystemsProcess purchase requisitions and purchase orders through ERP systems.Ensure accurate procurement documentation and records.Maintain supplier master data and procurement databases.Monitor procurement workflows and approval cycles.Generate procurement reports and spend analysis dashboards.Cross-Functional CollaborationPartner with Engineering, Maintenance, Production, Finance, HR, IT, Administration, and Supply Chain teams.Understand stakeholder requirements and translate them into procurement strategies.Support operational teams in urgent procurement requirements.Participate in cross-functional projects and continuous improvement initiatives.Compliance & GovernanceEnsure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.Maintain procurement transparency and ethical sourcing practices.Support internal and external audit requirements.Ensure proper documentation and procurement governance standards.Monitor supplier compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.Professional certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, CIPS, or PMP are considered a strong advantage.Experience5–8 years of experience in Procurement or Strategic Sourcing.Minimum 3 years managing indirect procurement categories.Experience within manufacturing, industrial, engineering, construction materials, FMCG, or multinational organizations is highly preferred.Proven experience in supplier negotiations and contract management.Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics.
