Senior Production Engineer

Job PurposeThe Production Senior Engineer is responsible for supervising and optimizing daily manufacturing operations to ensure the achievement of production targets, quality standards, safety requirements, and operational efficiency. The role focuses on managing production processes, monitoring productivity, reducing waste, improving resource utilization, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the production facility.Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Operations ManagementSupervise daily production activities to ensure the achievement of production plans and targets.Monitor production performance and ensure adherence to production schedules.Coordinate with Production Planning to ensure smooth workflow and material availability.Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, and resources.Monitor production output and take corrective actions to address deviations.Ensure timely completion of production orders according to quality and delivery requirements.Process Improvement & Operational ExcellenceAnalyze production processes and identify opportunities for productivity improvement.Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.Monitor production KPIs and develop action plans to improve performance.Participate in process optimization projects to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.Support the implementation of 5S, Kaizen, and other operational excellence programs.Quality ManagementEnsure compliance with quality standards and manufacturing specifications.Coordinate with Quality teams to address production-related quality issues.Investigate root causes of defects and implement corrective and preventive actions.Monitor scrap, rework, and rejection rates and drive improvement initiatives.Team Leadership & SupervisionSupervise production technicians, operators, and production team leaders.Provide technical guidance and support to production teams.Monitor employee performance and productivity.Identify training and development needs for production staff.Support performance evaluation and succession planning activities.Health, Safety & EnvironmentEnsure compliance with all HSE policies and procedures.Promote a safe working environment and ensure adherence to safety standards.Participate in safety audits and risk assessments.Investigate production-related incidents and implement corrective actions.Production Reporting & AnalysisPrepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.Monitor production KPIs including productivity, efficiency, downtime, OEE, scrap, and yield.Analyze production data and provide recommendations for performance improvement.Report production challenges and improvement opportunities to management.Cross-Functional CoordinationCoordinate with Planning, Maintenance, Quality, Warehouse, and Supply Chain teams.Support new product introductions and production trials.Participate in production meetings and operational reviews.Ensure effective communication between production shifts and departments.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.Experience5–8 years of experience in production operations within manufacturing environments.Experience in metal manufacturing, door hardware, building materials, steel fabrication, or related industries is highly preferred.Experience supervising production teams and managing shop floor operations.Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and production planning concepts.
