Costing Senior Accountant

Job PurposeThe Costing Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting all costing and financial control activities within the manufacturing operation. The role focuses on product costing, inventory valuation, cost analysis, budgeting support, overhead allocation, and maintaining accurate costing records to ensure reliable financial reporting and informed business decisions.Key ResponsibilitiesCosting & Cost AnalysisPrepare and maintain product costing records and cost sheets.Assist in calculating standard costs for manufactured products.Analyze direct material, direct labor, and manufacturing overhead costs.Monitor product costs and identify cost variances.Support monthly costing activities and period-end closing processes.Perform cost analysis and provide recommendations for cost optimization opportunities.Oracle ERP & Costing ModuleExecute costing transactions within Oracle ERP.Maintain accurate costing data and system records.Support the administration of the Oracle Costing Module.Ensure proper inventory valuation and costing updates within the system.Assist in troubleshooting costing-related system issues.Inventory ControlParticipate in physical inventory counts and cycle count activities.Reconcile inventory balances between physical counts and system records.Investigate inventory discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions.Support inventory valuation and stock movement analysis.Budgeting & Financial ControlSupport the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.Assist in monitoring departmental budgets and cost center expenditures.Analyze actual costs versus budget and identify variances.Prepare reports and analysis to support financial planning activities.Cost Centers & OverheadsSupport the maintenance of cost center structures.Assist in allocating costs accurately across departments and cost centers.Calculate and analyze manufacturing overhead allocations.Monitor overhead absorption rates and identify variances.Assess the impact of overhead costs on product profitability.Profitability & ReportingPrepare profitability analysis reports by product, customer, or business segment.Support pricing and margin analysis activities.Generate periodic costing and financial reports for management.Assist in preparing monthly financial performance analysis.Cross-Functional CoordinationCoordinate with Production, Supply Chain, Planning, and Finance teams to ensure costing accuracy.Support continuous improvement initiatives related to costing and inventory management.Participate in feasibility studies and cost analysis for new products and projects.Compliance & ControlsEnsure compliance with company policies and financial procedures.Maintain proper documentation for costing and inventory transactions.Support internal and external audit requirements.Assist in implementing financial controls related to costing and inventory.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.CMA, CPA, or equivalent certifications are considered an advantage.Experience5 years of experience in Cost Accounting, Costing, or Financial Analysis.Experience within manufacturing or industrial environments is a must.Experience with inventory accounting and product costing is highly preferred.Hands-on experience with Oracle ERP, particularly the Costing Module, is highly preferred.
