Reports to: Vice President and General CounselPurpose: The job holder manages the University's contract administration, claims management, and contract governance functions, ensuring contractual risks associated with major capital programs, e.g. Campus 2026 Expansion, are effectively identified and mitigated. The role develops and implements University-wide contract lifecycle management processes, templates, policies, and governance frameworks, working in close partnership with procurement, finance, facilities, academic and administrative units, and external advisors to ensure compliance, risk mitigation, and resolution of contractual issues.Responsibilities:Contract and Claims Management: Oversee and manage contractor and consultant claims, variation orders, extension of time requests, and contractual submissions for major capital programs, e.g. Campus 2026 Expansion, ensuring accurate tracking of contractual obligations, financial exposure, and claim status while preparing periodic reports for university leadershipContract Governance and Lifecycle Management: Design and implement University-wide contract lifecycle management (CLM) processes, covering initiation, review, approval, execution, renewal, and closeout, while maintaining a comprehensive contract template library, repository, and administration standards to ensure consistent and effective contract managementPolicy, Compliance and Risk Management: Draft and update contracting policies, procedures, governance documents, and develop risk assessment tools, while monitoring contract compliance and conducting benchmarking research to recommend process improvements and keep the University aligned with best practicesStakeholder Coordination and Advisory: Provide expert guidance to University departments on contractual obligations, governance requirements, and risk management, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, including legal advisors, procurement, and project teams, to ensure effective resolution of contractual issues and disputesTraining and Capacity Building: Develop and deliver training programs on contract administration, claims management, and contract risk management, while producing guidance materials, templates, and resources that build institutional capability across university departmentsUndertake additional responsibilities and initiatives as assigned, in support of the University’s needsQualifications and Skills:Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in law, engineering, construction management, business administration, or a related fieldMinimum 10 to 15 years of experience in contract administration under FIDIC scheme, claims management, procurement, construction, legal, or related fieldsStrong experience with major construction, infrastructure, or capital projectsExperience developing policies, procedures, governance frameworks, or contract management systems preferredTechnical Skills:Contract Administration: Strong knowledge of contract administration and claims management principles, including FIDIC schemesGovernance and Policy: Proven ability to develop contracting policies, governance frameworks, and risk management toolsReporting and Documentation: Strong proficiency in contract tracking, reporting, and documentation management systemsCommunication: Excellent analytical, organizational, and stakeholder communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities across diverse groupsThis position is open until June 21, 2026Placement is based on the candidate’s experience and skills.
