Reports to: Senior Lab Engineer IPurpose: Supervisor I, Technical Support ensures proper maintenance of high-tech devices in Computer Sciences and Engineering (CSE) labs and offices, ranging from simple $10 gadgets to hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of high-end servers and grid-based computers. He or She supervises CSE hardware-oriented labs, diagnoses and repairs faulty equipment, and implements the proactive maintenance plan for the wide variety of scalable and ever-changing departmental high-tech equipment.Responsibilities:Manage the maintenance operations in the CSE labs and server roomSupervise and help in CSE hardware labs, such as Networks lab, Architecture lab, Digital Design lab, and Embedded Systems labPlay an active role in the annual process of the department inventoryDiagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a wide spectrum of equipment in the labs, e.g. electronic boards, lab instruments, PCs, laptops, printers, and power suppliesAssist in preparing hardware experiments and projects requiring high technical skillsCarry out the technical preparation of the senior graduation projects’ presentations, such as installing presentation equipment and cablesPerform any additional tasks assigned by the technical managerRequirements:Minimum Education Requirements:University degree in related field or technical diploma with suitable experienceA minimum of five years of experience in related fieldsProven experience in related fieldSkills:Reasonable command of EnglishHands-on experience in electronics repair, soldering, and hardware troubleshooting in particularAbility to perform precise micro-soldering on various types of motherboards using specialized toolsStrong skills in reading and analyzing Printed Circuit Board traces and diagnosing fine electronic circuit faultsGood knowledge of PC hardware maintenanceFlexibility to adjust working hours, morning or evening shifts, according to job requirements when required, particularly to cover Lab Supervisor responsibilities if neededThis position is open until: May 31st , 2026Placement is based on the candidate’s experience and skills.
