About the CompanyWe are hiring a Civil Construction Manager to lead and control civil construction execution across one or multiple project sites or workfronts. The role is responsible for governing the civil construction delivery system and ensuring that civil works are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with approved drawings, specifications, HSE requirements, quality standards, project schedule, and contractual obligations. The Civil Construction Manager will oversee civil subcontractors, field engineers, supervisors, and site teams, while maintaining proper coordination with other project disciplines and interface teams. Experience in brownfield industrial projects is a must.About the RoleThe role is expected to:Enforce internal approvals and site governance.Own civil construction execution risk.Govern civil subcontractor performance.Manage civil site team performance.Ensure civil works are safe, compliant, predictable, auditable, and contract-defensible.Ensure Field Engineers deliver through clear standards, readiness gates, escalation discipline, and preserved evidence quality.Maintain strong interface control between civil works and other project disciplines.Ensure proper coordination between civil activities and other project interfaces, while maintaining clear civil scope ownership and readiness controls.ResponsibilitiesHSE First The Civil Construction Manager shall own HSE governance for all civil construction activities. Responsibilities include:Ensure company and client HSE requirements are enforced across all civil workfronts.Apply readiness-to-work gates before starting civil activities.Maintain permit-to-work discipline for excavation, lifting, concrete works, work at height, confined spaces, demolition, and other high-risk civil activities.Apply stop/resume authority rules where unsafe conditions exist.Define escalation thresholds for high-risk civil works.Verify that mitigation controls are implemented before work proceeds.Ensure safe execution of excavation, formwork, scaffolding, rebar fixing, concrete pouring, civil demolitions, infrastructure works, and related activities.Treat recurring HSE issues as system failures and close them through preventive controls, not awareness only.Planning & Control The Civil Construction Manager shall ensure that civil construction planning is realistic, controlled, and constraint-free. Responsibilities include:Validate civil look-ahead plans and ensure they are achievable.Confirm that civil drawings are released and approved before execution.Ensure materials, manpower, equipment, permits, inspections, and access are ready before work starts.Coordinate civil work sequencing with other project disciplines and relevant interface teams.Ensure civil progress information is accurate, measurable, and evidence-backed.Activate recovery actions early when delays appear.Prevent paper progress or unsupported progress claims.Require measurable completion evidence for civil works.Ensure civil works are aligned with the baseline schedule and project milestones.Civil Construction Management / Governance The Civil Construction Manager shall govern the civil construction operating model across civil workfronts, subcontractors, and interfaces. Responsibilities include:Approve civil execution approaches and site methodologies.Ensure approved method statements, permits, ITPs, risk assessments, and drawings are in place before work proceeds.Manage civil activities including excavation, backfilling, foundations, reinforced concrete, finishing, infrastructure, roads, drainage, utilities, buildings, and related civil works.Maintain controlled interface management between civil activities and other project disciplines.Establish civil workfront readiness rules.Ensure proper coordination between civil teams, subcontractors, QA/QC, HSE, Planning, Engineering, and Document Control.Maintain escalation discipline so civil execution is controlled, not reactive.Prevent unauthorized execution, informal site decisions, and uncontrolled changes.Quality Management / Governance The Civil Construction Manager shall own the effectiveness of the civil site quality control system. Responsibilities include:Ensure civil ITP governance and inspection discipline.Verify inspection readiness before civil activities and hold points.Prevent repeat NCRs related to civil works.Control civil punch list aging and closure.Apply readiness gates for civil completion, area release, and handover to the next project phase.Ensure corrective actions eliminate recurrence.Ensure civil quality evidence is complete and acceptance-ready.Maintain proper records for concrete works, cube tests, soil compaction tests, rebar inspections, formwork inspections, grouting, survey records, as-built drawings, and handover documents.Ensure civil works comply with approved drawings, specifications, codes, and client requirements.Civil Subcontractor Management / Governance The Civil Construction Manager shall own civil subcontractor performance outcomes through readiness validation, productivity governance, corrective action enforcement, and escalation decisions. Responsibilities include:Control subcontractors through clear scope boundaries.Define measurable civil outputs and productivity expectations.Monitor civil subcontractor manpower, equipment, productivity, quality, and HSE performance.Apply compliance gates before allowing work to proceed.Maintain evidence standards for performed works.Avoid informal site agreements.Escalate non-performing subcontractors with clear evidence and recommended actions.Ensure subcontractors comply with approved execution plans, safety requirements, and quality standards.
