Depot Design Engineer-Section HeadLocation: Head Office.Hassan Allam Construction is seeking a highly experienced Depot Design Engineer Section Head to join our Engineering team. The successful candidate will lead the planning and design of rail and metro depot facilities, ensuring efficient operations, maintainability, and compliance with international railway standards.Key Responsibilities:Lead the planning and design of railway and metro depot facilities from concept through detailed design.Develop depot layouts, operational planning, maintenance facilities, stabling yards, workshops, inspection buildings, washing plants, and ancillary facilities.Coordinate depot design with trackwork, civil, structural, architectural, MEP, utilities, signaling, telecommunications, traction power, and operational systems.Ensure depot layouts optimize train movements, operational efficiency, maintenance activities, and future expansion requirements.Review operational requirements and maintenance strategies to ensure the design supports long-term asset performance.Prepare and review design reports, technical specifications, calculations, drawings, and BOQs.Participate in design reviews, value engineering workshops, constructability assessments, and technical risk evaluations.Provide technical support during construction and respond to engineering queries and design changes.Ensure compliance with client requirements and international railway design standards.Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.Master's Degree in Railway Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline is Preferable.Minimum 12 years of experience in the design of railway or metro depot facilities.Proven experience in major metro, railway, or high-speed rail projects.Technical Skills:Candidates should have experience in the design and coordination of:Metro and railway depotsStabling yardsMaintenance workshopsInspection and servicing facilitiesTrain washing plantsDepot buildings and support facilitiesInternal roads and utilitiesDepot operational planningRail systems interface coordinationExperience with design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Bentley Open Rail/Open Rail Designer, Revit, BIM platforms, and other engineering analysis tools is highly desirable.What We're Looking For:Strong technical leadership in depot planning and design.Excellent understanding of railway operations and maintenance requirements.Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams.Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.Ability to deliver high-quality engineering solutions within project schedules.
