The Junior Landscape Architect is an early-career design professional who supports the development, documentation, and delivery of landscape projects under the guidance of senior designers and project leads. This role is a critical engine of the design studio: preparing drawings, producing graphics, researching materials and plant species, and contributing creative ideas that shape the projects we deliver.This position is ideal for a motivated designer eager to grow their technical foundation, refine their design voice, and gain structured exposure to every phase of a project, from first sketch to final site walk. You will work on real projects, receive direct mentorship, and be expected to contribute meaningfully from day one. Education — Bachelor's degree in Landscape ArchitectureExperience — 1 to 4 years of professional experience in a landscape architecture or closely related design studio; relevant internship experience may partially count toward this range.Portfolio — A portfolio demonstrating design sensibility, graphic skill, and technical capability, whether through academic work, internships, or completed projects.Technical Proficiency — Working knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).Design Fundamentals — Understanding of site planning, grading basics, planting design principles, and common landscape construction materials.Communication — Good spoken and written English; ability to take direction clearly and ask thoughtful questions.Familiarity with Lumion, Enscape, Twinmotion, or similar real-time rendering tools.Hand-sketching and diagramming skills that help communicate early design ideas quickly.Design Support — Assist senior designers in developing concept sketches, schematic plans, design studies, and presentation materials across active projects.Drafting & Documentation — Produce accurate landscape drawings including site plans, grading plans, planting plans, paving layouts, and hard-scape details using AutoCAD and supporting software.3D Modeling & Visualization — Build SketchUp / Rhino models and produce renderings, diagrams, and visual studies to communicate design intent.Technical Coordination — Support the incorporation of input from architects, engineers, and sub-consultants into landscape drawings and models.Preferred / Additional SkillsExposure to Rhino and parametric workflows (Grasshopper) or to BIM environments (Revit, Civil 3D).Hand-sketching and diagramming skills that help communicate early design ideas quickly.Internship or project experience with master-planned developments, hospitality, or public realm projects.Awareness of sustainability principles, water-sensitive design, or native-plant strategies.Basic understanding of authority submission processes within the region.
