Overview Of The Role:As a Litigation Counsel at Al Futtaim Group Egypt, you will provide critical legal consultancy and manage litigation cases for the company. With over 45 litigation cases handled before courts, your role involves defending Al Futtaim's interests, minimizing legal risks, and providing strategic guidance to reduce exposure. You will be instrumental in liaising with external law firms and ensuring the company's legal best practices are upheld while contributing to the financial stability concerning litigation provisions. Your success in this role will be measured through effective management of litigation cases, reduction in case exposure, amicable settlements, and improving the success rate of cases by 25% each year.What You Will Do:GeneralPrepare all documents required to file cases by conducting monthly litigation reports with GAP analysis.Work closely with stakeholders to prepare comprehensive briefs on each case that goes to trial.Maintain a regular schedule of hearings, court appearances, and conferences based on case requirements.Schedule and administer full depositions of case witnesses and experts.Review discovery documents and determine the best course of action for Al Futtaim in each case.Conduct pre-claim investigations, legal research, and initial case assessments.Review and draft pleadings, motions, and appellate documents and file them with the court in collaboration with the external firm.Perform administrative duties, such as calendaring hearings and deadlines, organizing case files, and managing logistics.Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices.Aid attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests.Liaise between trial teams and internal/external third parties.Consult with clients on legal best practices.Work with the legal team to compile comprehensive trial briefs.Represent the company in legal proceedings such as trials and administrative boards.Research and anticipate legal risks for Al Futtaim Egypt.SkillsRequired Skills To Be Successful:Proven litigation and legal consultancy experience.Ability to manage schedules and organize details efficiently.Strong research and analytical skills to anticipate legal risks.Effective communication and negotiation skills suitable for liaising with diverse stakeholders.What Qualifies You For The Role:Bachelor's degree in Law or related field.3-5 years of experience in a legal role.Hearing/trial experience and working knowledge in governmental entity, environmental, utility, construction law, and complex litigation.Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and leadership skills.Strategic thinking and business acumen with a high degree of confidentiality.
