Reports to: Assistant Manager, Accounts PayablePurpose:This position is to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial transactions and records across specific functional areas of the University, e.g., general accounting, accounts payable, student accounts, or student activities. It involves precise processing of financial transactions, performing routine to complex reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, and providing accurate financial support and customer service to internal and external stakeholders, all while adhering to the University policies and external regulations.Responsibilities:Financial Reporting and General Ledger:Accurately maintain the general ledger by preparing, reviewing, and posting journal entries, including monthly or year-end accrualsPrepare detailed financial reports, forecasts, and statistical analyses to support management decision-making.Reconciliation and Close Procedures:Perform complex account and bank reconciliations and execute all necessary month-end and year-end close procedures to ensure fiscal record accuracyTransaction Processing and Documentation:Process and verify a variety of financial transactions, including invoices, check requests, expense reimbursements, and payment collections, such as cash, credit card, and onlineMaintain accurate documentation and resolve financial discrepanciesCompliance and Audit Support:Ensure all transactions and documentation strictly adhere to internal policies, external regulations, e.g., tax and financial aid, and statutory requirementsAssist with the preparation for and response to internal and external auditsSystem Management and Data Integrity:Manage financial operations within the core systems, e.g., SAP, BANNER, or ARGOS, including maintaining master data and updating student information systems (SIS) with collections, refunds, and scholarship dataStakeholder Communication and Service:Provide accurate financial information and consultation to internal departments and external stakeholders, ensuring a strong customer-oriented serviceProcess Improvement:Identify areas for performance improvement and contribute to the streamlining of accounting processes, e.g., AR accounting, cash flow management, or policy communicationGeneral Administrative Support:Perform other related duties as requestedQualifications and Skills:Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in accounting or financeSeven to nine years of experience, with a minimum of five years in accountingComplex Operations and ReportingPerform complex bank or account reconciliations, prepare year-end entries or monthly accruals, manage high-value tuition or fee checking, and lead audit preparation supportTechnical Skills:Technical Mastery: Advanced MS Office Excel and expertise in SAP or BANNER systemsBilingual: Strong command of written and spoken English and ArabicWork Ethic: Superior organizational skills and proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlinesThis position is open until May 24, 2026Placement is based on the candidate’s experience and skills.
