Senior System Engineer Virtualization (VMware Cloud Foundation Specialist)

Job SummaryThe Senior System Engineer specializing in virtualization and cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF). The candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and optimizing enterprise virtualization environments while ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.ResponsibilitiesArchitecture Leadership: Own end-to-end SDDC design, workload domain strategy, and multi-site/stretched cluster architectureAdvanced Deployment: Lead VCF deployments, upgrades, and lifecycle operations using SDDC ManagerOperations Excellence: Define operational standards, monitoring frameworks, and SLA adherenceNSX & Security Leadership: Design micro-segmentation, advanced routing, and security architectureAutomation Strategy: Drive automation using PowerCLI, APIs, Infrastructure-as-CodeGovernance & Compliance: Ensure adherence to security baselines, audit readiness, and best practicesMentorship & Leadership: Mentor junior engineers and act as escalation point (L3/L4)Design, deploy, and manage virtualization infrastructure using VMware technologies (vSphere, vSAN, NSX).Monitor system performance, capacity planning, and ensure high availability of virtual environments.Perform upgrades, patches, and lifecycle management of VMware platforms.Troubleshoot complex virtualization and infrastructure issues.Integrate virtualization solutions with storage, backup, and disaster recovery systems.Manage and optimize resource utilization across clusters and data centers.Required ExperienceBachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or equivalent experience.7+ years of experience in virtualization and infrastructure engineering. Proven hands-on expertise with VMware Cloud Foundation in production environments.Experience designing and operating large-scale or multi-site environments.Strong hands-on experience with:VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter . VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) . VMware NSX & vSAN .Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or hybrid cloud environments). Solid understanding of networking, storage, and security concepts.Experience with backup solutions and disaster recovery planning.Familiarity with scripting/automation (PowerShell, PowerCLI).Technical Skills VMware certifications (VCP, VCAP, or VCF-related certifications). Experience with Kubernetes, containers, or Tanzu. Knowledge of ITIL processes. Experience in enterprise or large-scale environments. Logitech Bose Shure Poly / Cisco Collaboration AutoCAD or Visio drawing experience. Understanding of networking basics related to AV solutions.
