UG Grade Control TechnicianSukari is located approximately 750km from Cairo and 25km from Marsa Alam on the Red Sea. First gold was poured in June 2009, and commercial production began in April 2010, making Sukari the first modern gold mine in Egypt, a country which in ancient times was a prolific producer of the precious metal. Sukari conducts both open-pit and underground mining operations, each employing specialised mining methods tailored to the orebody characteristics and operational requirements. The Role The UG Grade Control Technician provides administrative and logistical support to grade control geologists and helps ensure the smooth execution of grade control drilling, sampling and dispatch activities under a robust QA/QC framework.The role also ensures contractor field work is carried out safely and efficiently, supports mapping and logging activities, and maintains the availability of sampling equipment and resources across shifts.Location: Sukari Gold Mine, EgyptContract Type: Full TimeSchedule: 20/10 roster; night shift required The Key ResponsibilitiesSafety leadership: Contribute to toolbox and safety meetings, enforce safe working procedures, report hazards and incidents immediately, and maintain good housekeeping.QA/QC and sampling integrity: Follow correct sampling procedures, maintain sample integrity, prevent contamination or dilution, and ensure correct sample order to the lab.Sampling logistics: Organise equipment and resources, prepare and lay out samples each shift, and dispatch samples to the sample shed and laboratory on time.Drilling area control: Place PVC pipes in holes per procedure, backfill after clearance, and clearly mark drilling areas to prevent traffic damage.Geological support: Assist mine geologists with face and floor mapping and with RC hole logging in accordance with procedures.Crew transport and site logistics: Drive the shift crew to and from work areas and ensure availability of bags, chips trays, and other drilling consumables. The Requirements Certificate from a Technical School.1–3 years’ experience in mining activities as a sampler.Good knowledge of RC drilling and ore mining.Good numerical ability; able to perform primary calculations using English numerals.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Understanding of ore spotting and grade control drilling roles and responsibilities.Ability to drive a light vehicle to transport crew.Willingness to work a 20/10 roster and night shifts.
