Condition Monitoring Engineer Sukari is located approximately 750km from Cairo and 25km from Marsa Alam on the Red Sea. First gold was poured in June 2009 and commercial production began in April 2010, making Sukari the first modern gold mine in Egypt, a country which in ancient times was a prolific producer of the precious metal. Sukari conducts both open-pit and underground mining operations, each employing specialised mining methods tailored to the orebody characteristics and operational requirements. The Role The Condition Monitoring Engineer is responsible for providing professional condition monitoring and engineering support to ensure early detection of component and equipment issues across the site's infrastructure. Operating within the Engineering Department, this role focuses on transforming complex asset data into actionable maintenance strategies, reducing unplanned failures, and optimizing plant health. Location: On-site in Marsa AlamContract Type: Permanent, full-timeSchedule: 20/10 working rosterCompensation: Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package The Key ResponsibilitiesData Collection & Predictive Analysis: Utilize, calibrate, and interpret specialized hardware and data collection technologies to assess asset health. This includes executing vibration analysis, thermography (thermal imaging) camera tracking, ultrasonic testing, tribology (oil sampling), and various non-destructive testing (NDT) workflows.Technical Trend Analysis: Proficiently leverage engineering software to compute, evaluate, and model field data readings. Successfully transform highly technical raw data trends into clear, preventive corrective action recommendations for the maintenance crews.Defect Elimination & Lean Initiatives: Active participation in formal Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations to resolve chronic asset failures. Contribute directly to the site's "failed asset in operation" metrics, actively supporting defect elimination programs and broader LEAN engineering processes.Reliability Engineering Support: Apply Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) fundamentals and RCA techniques to enhance asset lifecycles. Assist engineering leadership with calculating yearly plant availability metrics for corporate budgeting and actively support plant Preventive Maintenance Optimization (PMO) reviews.Reporting & Documentation: Demonstrate strong technical report writing skills to regularly draft and deliver mandatory weekly reliability information summaries and comprehensive monthly reliability health reports for stakeholders.Workforce Training & Safety Leadership: Assist and train the electrical team in site-specific process control principles and communication network engineering. Coach and mentor staff, maintain 100% compliance with "Take 5" or Job Safety Analysis (JSA) protocols, and continuously report workplace hazards. The RequirementsEducation & Qualifications: Recognized professional qualifications in Engineering, Reliability, or a related technical trade background.Certifications (Non-Negotiable):CAT 2 Certification in Vibration Analysis is required. CAT 1 Certification in Thermography is required. Candidates must be fully trained and aware of ultrasound technology (Ultrasound competency is strictly non-negotiable for this role).Experience: 1 to 2 years of active reliability and condition monitoring experience working strictly within heavy industry, a heavy industrial manufacturing site, a mining operation, or a processing plant environment. Prior gold mining experience is not mandatory.
