The Heavy Equipment Engineer is responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and performance of heavy equipment and machinery used within the company’s operations. The role ensures all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably while minimizing downtime and supporting operational productivity.Equipment Maintenance & OperationsSupervise preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities for heavy equipment and machinery.Ensure all heavy equipment is operating efficiently and safely according to operational standards.Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults and coordinate necessary repairs.Monitor equipment condition and performance to reduce breakdowns and operational interruptions.Coordinate emergency repairs and technical support when required.Equipment Inspection & Technical EvaluationConduct routine inspections and technical assessments for heavy equipment and machinery.Ensure proper testing, calibration, and functionality of equipment before operation.Identify equipment defects, operational risks, and maintenance requirements.Prepare technical reports and recommendations regarding equipment condition and performance.Fleet & Asset ManagementMonitor utilization and operational efficiency of heavy equipment fleets.Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment history, and inspection documentation.Coordinate spare parts requirements and ensure availability of critical maintenance materials.Support planning for equipment replacement, upgrades, and procurement activities.Operational SupportCoordinate with operations and logistics teams to ensure equipment availability for daily activities.Support site operations by ensuring proper deployment and functionality of machinery.Supervise contractors and external maintenance service providers when required.Ensure proper handling and operation of equipment by operators and technicians.Health, Safety & ComplianceEnsure all heavy equipment operations comply with safety regulations and company policies.Conduct regular safety inspections and support implementation of corrective actions.Promote safe operation practices and ensure proper use of PPE and safety procedures.Support compliance with environmental and operational standards.Continuous ImprovementIdentify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, maintenance efficiency, and operational performance.Recommend technical modifications and process improvements to reduce downtime and maintenance costs.Participate in technical training and development initiatives to stay updated on industry standards and technologies.
