Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (Tobacco & FMCG Manufacturing)Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with 3–4 years of experience in tobacco manufacturing and FMCG production environments. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and continuous operation of production machinery and utility systems through preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities. Experience in high-speed manufacturing lines and industrial factory operations is essential.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance on production and packaging equipment.Diagnose mechanical faults and implement effective corrective actions to minimize downtime.Maintain and troubleshoot conveyors, motors, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, bearings, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.Monitor machine performance and recommend improvements to increase equipment reliability and efficiency.Support production teams to achieve daily and monthly manufacturing targets.Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement initiatives.Plan and execute maintenance shutdown activities.Ensure availability and proper management of spare parts and maintenance inventory.Maintain maintenance records, reports, and equipment history in CMMS or ERP systems.Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental, and quality standards.Coordinate with electrical, automation, and production teams for smooth plant operations.Assist in installation, commissioning, and modification of new equipment and production lines.Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.3–4 years of maintenance experience in Tobacco Manufacturing, FMCG, or other continuous-process industrial factories.Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, industrial equipment, and maintenance best practices.Experience with high-speed production and packaging machinery.Familiarity with TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), Lean Manufacturing, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and technical manuals.Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and utility systems.Proficiency in maintenance management software (CMMS/SAP PM preferred).Preferred Industry ExperienceTobacco manufacturing plants.FMCG production facilities.Packaging and processing lines.Industrial manufacturing factories operating 24/7 production schedules.Key SkillsPreventive & Predictive MaintenanceBreakdown Analysis & TroubleshootingRoot Cause Analysis (RCA)TPM & Lean ManufacturingMechanical Equipment ReliabilityIndustrial Safety StandardsSpare Parts ManagementTeamwork & Cross-Functional CoordinationProblem Solving & Decision MakingMaintenance Planning & SchedulingTypical Equipment ExposureCigarette making and packing machinesTobacco processing equipmentConveying systemsAir compressors and vacuum systemsPumps and motorsGearboxes and drive systemsBoilers, chillers, and utility equipmentPneumatic and hydraulic systemsIndustrial packaging machinery
