Job Purpose: The Associate Director ensures the effective day-to-day operation of events technical support and digital media services by managing the team that delivers reliable live event technology. The role requires proven expertise across pro audio, pro lighting, video or screens, and large presentation equipment, and experience coordinating with touring and production vendors that supply and set up sound, lighting, and video for major University ceremonies. This position supports high-quality technical service delivery for University events and instructional needs.Core Responsibilities:Operations Management: Manage the day-to-day operations of event technical support, covering 11 event spaces, and meeting rooms technologiesFinancial and Resource Planning: Manage the capital budget, approximately $ 1.2M, for equipment procurement and the operational budget, approximately EGP 1M, for maintenance, supplies, and staff travel or trainingPolicy and Inventory Control: Establish and enforce policies and procedures related to the use, scheduling, and support of all technical equipmentMaintain a detailed inventory of all related assetsTeam Supervision and Scheduling: Directly supervise the IT events team, managing their work schedules and ensuring proper coverage for all events and servicesEvent Coordination and Support: Act as the main liaison with the University events office and the commencement committee, providing high-quality technical support for all major University ceremoniesTechnical Expertise and Maintenance: Oversee the operation and maintenance of specialized equipment, including presentation equipment, sound systems, lighting, video production and streaming, and video conferencingInterdepartmental Liaison: Coordinate with central IT, security, and other departments to ensure seamless service delivery and address non-technical infrastructure issues, e.g., electricity and lightingGeneral Administrative Support: Perform other related duties as requestedQualifications:Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical field, and a post-graduate certificate in a related field are requiredMinimum 10 years in a technical support or service role, with at least five years in a managerial capacitySkills:Communication skills: Excellent managerial skills, interpersonal communication, and project managementProficient in speaking and writing both Arabic and EnglishTechnical: Knowledge of technical terminology used by event support, video conferenceExcellent negotiation skillsThis position is open till May 6, 2026.Placement is based on the candidate’s experience and skills.
